It was approved by the FDA after results showed that while it is different from Botox, it produced similar results. If you are a regular Botox patient and found that your results have decreased over time, or if your initial Botox treatment yielded limited or less than satisfactory results, you may find that Xeomin injections are a better alternative for you.

In our extensive experience, we have found that patients who experienced less than satisfactory results with Botox, often achieve very good results with Xeomin. This has to do with the body’s formation of antibodies to proteins that surround the active ingredient of Botox, which can render Botox’s effectiveness less than satisfactory for a limited number of patients. With Xeomin, antibodies do not form and interfere with its effectiveness because the active ingredient of Xeomin is not coated with protein like Botox. This doesn’t mean that Xeomin is better than Botox, only that some patients may find that their body’s chemistry is better suited for Xeomin.
