90 volunteers participated in the study where scientists injected Botox in one side of each subject’s face and Dysport in the other. The area treated was the outer corners of the eyes or lateral orbital rhytids, commonly referred to as “Crow’s Feet.” Data was gathered after the injections were allowed to take full effect using a five point scale along with participant’s feedback. The results of this study resulted in Dysport scoring considerably higher than Botox. Each of the 90 volunteers were asked to contract their facial muscles as much as possible. 67% of the group said they clearly preferred the results of Dysport over the 33% who preferred Botox.
Neither the scientists who conducted the study nor the participants could see a visible difference between the two sides of the volunteer’s faces when facial muscles were relaxed.
